The Devon Youth Wind Orchestra (DYWO) is a symphonic wind orchestra for musicians aged between 12 and 21 years from all areas of Devon. DYWO is open to brass, wind and percussion players of intermediate and advanced ability. We offer young musicians the opportunity to improve their musicianship, while playing a fun and varied selection of music.

 

We meet monthly and  hold a residential weekend every year. We play at several different events and venues throughout the year, providing valuable performing experience that helps build self confidence.

Playing in an ensemble helps improve skills such as teamwork, listening, as well as discipline and self-motivation. It also looks great on University applications!
